HOUSTON —The Endometriosis Foundation of Houston is inviting the community to its biggest party yet. “Party with a Purpose” is a celebration that will highlight endometriosis - a chronic disease affecting nearly 200 million women worldwide and roughly 300,000 women in the greater Houston area.
“Party with a Purpose” will take place on Sunday, March 24 at SpindleTap Brewery between 2 and 5 p.m. and will feature dozens of vendors, lots of yummy food, great music, a variety of door prizes, gifts and of course, beer. Come mingle with the ladies of the Endometriosis Foundation of Houston and learn why everyone should care about endometriosis.
“Endometriosis is a chronic, oftentimes debilitating disease that affects one in 10 women, but what’s sad is that almost no one has heard of it,” said Maria Mone, EFHou Executive Director of Administration and Operations. “Our goal for ‘Party with a Purpose’ is to raise awareness of endometriosis and to have fun while doing it.”
March is Endometriosis Awareness Month and a time when endometriosis communities across the world come together to raise awareness of the disease, which is as common as asthma. Endometriosis requires a medical diagnosis, but it can take a person an average of 10 years to be properly diagnosed by a doctor.
